Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced software engineer with interest in blockchain who wants to join the founding team of Way Network. Way Network is a decentralized social discovery filter, that allows users to identify trustworthy and relevant strangers who happen to be physically nearby.

 

Starting from 1st of December, you would receive 2000€ cash-on-hand per month for at least 6 months. This is a tax-free startup scholarship coming from the European Union. We are already receiving this scholarship and are now able to bring an additional person on board. After 3 months of successful cooperation you would have the option of obtaining a substantial amount of vested equity shares in the company.

 

Eligibility requirements for the Scholarship:

• You are officially registered as a resident in Berlin

• You have an academic degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD…), the subject doesn’t matter

• You are NOT a student (or you are willing to pause your studies)

• You are NOT receiving any financial aid (e.g. from the government)

• You are willing to work with us at least 4 days per week (physically present at our office in Berlin-Mitte)

 

Requirements from our side:

• You have a strong interest in decentralization and a good understanding of blockchain technology

• You have some experience with smart contract development in Ethereum/Solidity

• You have experience with frontend development (Javascript, ideally React.js and Redux)

• You are an efficient team player who can work in an agile environment with SCRUM

• Helpful, but optional: You have some experience with DevOps and automation

 

Your responsibilities (might vary, depending on your abilities):

• Lead the smart contract development and implement an ecosystem of novel bonded curve token cryptocurrencies on Ethereum

• Research and plan a decentralized data architecture for privacy-preserving local social networking

• Research and implement Token Engineering methods for crypto-economic mechanism design

• Research current trends and best practices in smart contract development, especially with respect to security

• Develop and deploy the React frontend application (this would be the main task, if you have little experience with blockchain)

• Help establish & lead the engineering culture at Way Network
